A nationally known artist, Tim Fortune is a native of the Adirondacks with 25 years of painting experience. He has studied extensively in Italy and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Temple University's Tyler School of Art and a Master of Arts from New York University.

After many years away from the Adirondacks, he returned to his home town of Saranac Lake in 1989 to open a studio/gallery where he can be seen painting on a daily basis. Working in oils and watercolors, the artist continues to interpret his surroundings with a mature and sensitive vision. In June of 1999 he opened a second gallery where he exhibits a photographic contemperary approach to the landscape.

The artist is represented in many private and corporate collections. He has been honored by the prestigious Art in Embassy program of the U.S. Government where he has exhibited in the Guatemalan Embassy. He is the winner of numerous awards, most recently the Jurors Award at the Copley Society of Boston. He has exhibited at many galleries through the years, and has chosen to spend the majority of his time creating works inspired by the Adirondacks.
